Owen Nene & Linda Nene

Owen and Linda have been dancing together for about six years, competing in South Africa and internationally. They have attended international workshops and training with internationally acclaimed teachers, always with the mindset of bringing that knowledge back home. They are both qualified adjudicators in Ballroom and Latin.

They have transferred their knowledge, experience and observations into a multi-disciplinary approach to dance. Among their achievements are:

• Represented South Africa in 2018 in the 10-Dance World Professional championships in Portugal and were ranked 17th.
• Professional South African Latin Champions in 2018 (DSSA)
• Runners-up in South African Professional Latin in 2019 (DSSA)
• Runners-up in South African Professional Ballroom in 2019 (DSSA)
• Professional South African Latin Champions in 2019 (SADTA)
• Runners-up in South African Professional Ballroom in 2019 (SADTA)
• Undefeated 10-dance Professional Champions (under DSSA)
• Professional 10-dance champions in 2019  (under SADTA)
• Placed 3rd at The Star Championship Professional Master 1 Latin in Italy in 2019
• Ranked 9th at The Star Championship Professional Master 1 Ballroom in Italy in 2019
• Ranked 4th in the Star Cup Professional Latin section in Italy in 2019
• Ranked 7th in the Star Cup Professional Ballroom section in Italy in 2019
• Currently ranked 12 for Latin under WDSF world rankings
• Currently ranked 41 for Ballroom under WDSF world rankings.

Levi Cannon

Levi began his dancing career at 17 years old. He has been teaching for the last nine years and became the owner of his family’s Latin & ballroom dance studio. In 2018, he joined the Fred Astaire Dance Studios group as a franchisee. He teaches standard and smooth ballroom as well as international and rhythm Latin American. He trains amateur couples and individual dancers and belongs to the pro-am community of instructors competing with their students.
 
Levi holds an IDTA Associate qualification in Latin American dance and intends furthering his qualifications in Standard, Smooth and Rhythm and Latin American. Levi is passionate about dancing and teaching dance. He consistently strives to learn and further his skills for personal development as well as to help his students achieve their dancing goals.
 
Levi, with partner Mahlatse Mokoena, is the current DanceSport South Africa (DSSA) South African Professional Latin champion. He has been competing as a professional for the last four years and achieved high rankings in various regional and national championships. He hopes to be able to compete internationally as a professional in the future.
